Sundays In July Will Feature Free Concerts Along Fox River In Geneva
Artists slated to perform include a 30-member volunteer brass band, a Glen Campbell tribute group and a five-piece that plays jazz and soul.

GENEVA, IL — A new band is slated to perform at Geneva's River Park each Sunday evening in July, officials announced.
The return of the free Summer Concert Series is less than a week away. Sponsored by the Cultural Arts Commission, shows will begin at 6 p.m. July 2, 9, 16 and 23 at the park, which is located at North River Lane and Peyton Street just north of State Street.
Each band will perform at the park's stone amphitheater, giving show-goers a chance to spread out on the lawn with blankets, chairs and even picnic dinners.

In case of inclement weather, concerts will be held at the United Methodist Church of Geneva Fellowship Hall, 211 Hamilton St.

- July 2: The Illinois Brass Band, performing British-style brass music. The group is comprised of 30 volunteer musicians.
- July 9: The Wichita Lineman, a tribute to Glen Campbell. Carl Acuff Jr., a 30-year entertainment veteran, will lead the full Branson, Missouri band through the country singer's lineup.
- July 16: The MacCartyns, playing harmonies, jangle and power pop from the 1960s and early '70s.
- July 23: Chez Butter, a five-piece band that plays soul, funk, Motown, R&B and jazz.
