Suspicions Over Man 'Lurking' Near Geneva Bus Stop Unfounded: Police
Police said the man was not "connected to illegal or suspicious activity as it relates to school children."

A man was arrested last week after residents called police to report he was ”lurking” near a school bus stop on Cannon Drive in Geneva Wednesday.
But police said his proximity to the bus stop had nothing to do with his arrest. He was taken into custody for a traffic offense. Commander Eric Passarelli said the man did not pose a danger to the community or any children.
“....there was never any danger to the residents in the area and the arrest was in no way connected to illegal or suspicious activity as it relates to school children or residents in the area,” Passarelli said in an e-mail response.

Police responded to the area after receiving a report of a a suspicious vehicle and subject on Cannon Drive. After the man was arrested, rumors circled that the man was a pedophile and purposely hanging out near the bus stop, area parents told Patch.
“Through our investigation we have no reason to believe that the proximity to a school bus stop played any role in the subject being in that area,” Passarelli said.
