Tree Trimming Planned This Winter In Geneva

ComEd will be trimming trees in two areas in Geneva from January to March.

GENEVA, IL — Tree trimming operations are planned in two areas of Geneva this winter, officials announced.

ComEd will trim trees on Kirk Road and along the Union Pacific-West railway corridor starting in January and lasting until March.

The City of Geneva owns and operates its own electric utility, but ComEd runs power lines to the city's substations and neighboring communities. The company's vegetation management program runs to ensure electrical reliability since branches coming into contact with power lines is a leading cause of outages, officials said in a news release.
