Two Men Accused in Chicago Carjacking Could Be in Kane County: Police

The men were involved in a crash in Kane County in the stolen vehicle but fled the scene.

Local police are searching for two men suspected in a Chicago carjacking.

Kane County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene of a crash on Interstate 88 near Dauberman Road in Kaneville Township at about 1 a.m. Tuesday that involved a vehicles stolen in the carjacking, police said.

One man was taken into custody and two others fled on foot. Around 5:30 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to the village of Kaneville for a report of a suspicious person after a resident spotted two people near a park in town, according to the news release.

Deputies checked the area but did not find anyone.

The suspects, who are described as black males, have still not been found, according to a Kane County Sheriff’s Office press release. One of the men has dreadlocks. If residents see anyone matching the description, they should call 911.

Deputies will have an increased presence in the area and the Kaneland School District is being notified.
