URGENT! Foster Homes Needed SATURDAY 10/31
Please help us bring these dogs to safety!
Safe Haven Dog Rescue is in need of loving foster homes Saturday 10/31 for our HOWL-O-ween Transport!
These dogs are in Tennessee and in desperate need of rescue. We would like to bring them here to Illinois, but we need committed foster homes first. Please take a moment to read about these hopeful dogs and puppies to see if you, or someone you know, would be interested in opening your home to foster. These pups deserve a TREAT not a TRICK!
Lucy Female Brown about 2 yrs old and Dozer Blonde about 5 yrs old, and are Heartworm Negative

These dogs can be fostered separately.
These beautiful Shar Pei's were surrendered to the shelter when they didn't work as a breeding pair. The 'owner' didn’t want them anymore unless there were going to be puppies to make a profit.

Lucy’s skin is in rough shape. She likely needs some antibiotics and medicated baths. A dog with that many wrinkles that is not bathed and brushed regularly is prone to skin infections. We would love for her to come to Illinois and get the attention she needs to feel better. We are told that Dozer is more shy than Lucy but both dogs are very sweet.
Keke - 2 year old, 60 lb. Heartworm positive female. Keke is the kind of dog that is always overlooked at the shelter. She is a beautiful girl but most people see her at being “plain”. In addition to being a plain tan dog, she is Heartworm positive and a bully breed. Many rescues will pass her up in search of the cute puppies or quickly adoptable dogs. What they don’t see is that this girl is a hidden gem. She is very regal. While the other dogs are running around barking like fools, she sits and calmly watches the craziness. She does not react to the parade of dogs walking by her kennel. We need to bring this dog to safety!
Keke needs a foster home that will love her through her Heartworm treatment.
Kent is a 1-2 year old, 52 lb. HW negative love of a boy. He walks very nicely on a leash and gets along with the other dogs. Have you checked out his EARS????? Too cute! He loves affection and would love a foster family ready to share some pets an love with him.
Beulah - 2 year old, 55 lb. HW+ female.
Beautiful Beulah came into the shelter in bad shape. She had patches of fur missing from a skin infection which made it very painful for her to be touched. Her infection has been treated and her skin is looking and feeling much better!
Beulah is shy around new people, but once she gets to know you, she'll take all the love she can get! Beulah's ideal home is a calm one, with people who will give her the space relax and feel comfortable. Beulah has beautiful amber eyes and the sweetest expression that is so easy to fall in love with.
Since Beulah is Heartworm positive, she would need a foster home for 2-3 months while she goes through treatment before she would be considered adoptable.
While you foster, Safe Haven Dog Rescue provides a crate, food, leash, collar, and all medical care at our participating vet offices. We also have a very supportive foster network to answer your questions, provide support, and guide you along the way.
We have to let the shelter in Tennessee know by NOON on Friday 10/30 in order to get these pups on transport. Please email foster@safehavendogsil.org ASAP for more information.
If you are not in the position to foster, please SHARE - Everyone knows somewhat that can help!
