Water Main Breaks In Geneva Business Park, Causes Discolored Water
Some residents in the area might find discoloration in their water, but it is still safe to drink, officials said.
GENEVA, IL — A water main broke in the Geneva Business Park near Kirk Road Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Crews shut down the water to curtain the problem, but due to large water loss, some residents living east of East Side Drive experienced rusty or discolored water, according to an alert sent out around 1:30 p.m.
The water was still safe to drink, officials said. In such events, running cold water through the faucet for a few minutes will help clear out the water lines.
