Water Main Breaks On West State Street In Geneva

Westbound traffic is down to one lane for a block while crews work to repair the water main.

GENEVA, IL — A water main broke Wednesday morning near the intersection of West State and Second streets in downtown Geneva.

The main broke around 7:35 a.m., and the Geneva Public Works Department responded to reduce the amount of water spilling onto the street. Crews applied salt to the roadway to help prevent icy patches.

While crews work on the repair, westbound State Street traffic is down to one lane from First to Second streets, city officials said.
