• ‘Am I seeing what I think that is?': Plane makes emergency landing near Gifford (wcia.com) — An emergency plane landing on U.S. Route 36 between Gifford’s village limits and Gordyville USA stunned nearby residents Friday morning, but no one was hurt. Witnesses described the small aircraft skimming over a mail truck and sharing the highway with semi-trucks before safely stopping in a driveway, as Illinois State Police said weather prompted the unexpected landing.
