1 Dead in Officer-Involved Shooting in DuPage County
The DuPage County Sheriff's Office deputy shot, killed a person while responding to a domestic incident near Villa Park, authorities said.

An investigation is underway after a DuPage County Sheriff’s Office deputy shot a suspect after responding to a domestic call near Villa Park early Monday, authorities said.
The identity of the suspect, who later died at an area hospital, as well os the officer is being withheld “pending a completed investigation,” DuPage County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bob Harris said in a statement late Monday.
Authorities were call to a “violent domestic in progress” at a home in the area of Standish Lane and Ardmore Avenue in unincorporated Villa Park at about 12 a.m. Monday, according to Harris.

“The first responding deputy arrived and was involved in an altercation with the suspect which led to an officer involved shooting,” Harris said.
The shooting victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His age as well as his town of residence is also currently being withheld at this time.

The Illinois State Police is leading the investigation and the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office has been notified, according to Harris.
