GLEN ELLYN, IL — Plans are moving forward quickly for the Event Park that will be created at the former U.S. Bank site in downtown Glen Ellyn. Three design concepts were recently shared with residents, along with a survey to get their feedback on each design.

The design concepts are as follows:

  1. Terraced Park
    • Performance pavilion on north side of park
    • Pavilion buffers train sounds, sends event acoustics toward park
    • Natural slope will create effective amphitheater
  2. Great Lawn Site
    • Performance pavilion on park's southwest side
    • Landscaping, berm on north side to buffer train sounds
    • Open lawn space and decks for stadium seating
  3. Town Square Site
  • Performance pavilion at center of park
  • Pavilion features multifunctional hardscape design
  • Park perimeter will feature amphiteater seats, picnic area, more

This is the second survey shared with residents amid planning for the Event Park, which is a joint effort between the Village of Glen Ellyn and the Glen Ellyn Park District. A virtual town hall will be held Sept. 28 to gather more feedback for the project.
