5 Car Burglaries Reported In 1 Day In Glen Ellyn
Police say four of the burglaries were committed on cars that were left unlocked.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn Police Department is investigating a string of burglaries that took place within a 24-hour period. Five cars were burglarized on April 11 throughout the village, according to a recent police report.
According to the police report, four of the cars that were broken into had been left unlocked. In another instance, the window of the car was smashed to gain entry.

700 block of Willis
Sometime between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. on April 11, a suspect got into an unlocked vehicle and rummaged through its contents. Police say nothing was reported stolen.

According to police, another unlocked car was burglarized in the same block between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. on the same day. The owner told police that two Easter baskets, a bag of clothes and a cellphone holder were taken. The items were later found nearby.
500 block of Park Row
Police say someone broke into two unlocked cars sometime between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. on April 11. An Apple iPad Mini was reported stolen.
500 block of Taylor
Police say someone smashed a window to get into a car sometime between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m. An Apple charging cable was reported stolen.
