6 Vehicles Burglarized In Glen Ellyn During Week Of Memorial Day
The burglaries included one at a local gym and another at Spring Avenue Recreation Center.
GLEN ELLYN, IL -- Glen Ellyn Police are investigating a handful of vehicles burglaries that took place in the days during and after Memorial Day weekend. According to a police report, six vehicles were burglarized between May 24 and June 1.
The first incident was reported in the 1100 block of Heather. The victim told police that sometime between 7:30 p.m. on May 26 and 4:50 a.m. on May 27, someone entered and rummaged through their car. It is unclear whether or not the vehicle had been locked.
Three parked semi-trailers were also burglarized into in the 1000 block of Hill Avenue around the same time period. The Hill Avenue burglary took place between 6 p.m. on May 26 and 9 a.m. on May 27, according to police.

The victim told police the suspect or suspects forced entry into two trailers and entered a third, unlocked trailer, stealing three hedge trimmers, four commercial blowers, a landscape edger, and a chainsaw.
On May 28, a vehicle was burglarized in the parking lot of Spring Avenue Recreation Center. Police say someone smashed the back window of the car and stole a purse sometime between 6:35 p.m. and 9:35 p.m.

On May 31, a car burglary was reported at Orange Theory Fitness, located at 870 Roosevelt. The victim told police that they left their car unattended at around 4:45 a.m. When they returned around 6 a.m., they found their window had been shattered and a brown tote bag had been stolen from the front passenger seat.
