7 Offers On Table For Roosevelt Road Hotel Properties In Glen Ellyn

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The village of Glen Ellyn is currently weighing seven different developer offers for the Roosevelt Road properties.

The site, which was purchased by Glen Ellyn for $2.8 million in early 2022, includes 2.2 acres and six parcels, according to village documents. In Aug. 2021, village officials issued a request for proposals for the site and shortly after signed on with the Evanston-based Kon Savoy Consulting Group for help envisioning uses for the sites and working with developers.

Community open houses and feedback sessions were held throughout 2022. In October, Glen Ellyn launched a website sharing five design concepts for the Roosevelt Road properties. The "interactive commenting site" encouraged residents to give feedback on each of the proposed design options.

The presented options included drive-thru restaurants, affordable housing, commercial developments and other configurations.

In November, village officials posted purchase offer its submittal requirements for purchase offers for the site, giving developers a deadline of Dec. 5. They plan to interview developers in January 2023, with the aim of selecting a developer or developers by February 2023.
