Glen Crest 7th Grade Spartan Boys Basketball Team Champs of DMVA Conference

     Glen Crest Middle School 7th grade boys basketball team coach, Craig Hofmann, announced that the 7th grade Spartan Boys Basketball Team won the DuPage Metro Valley Association Conference Championship for 2013.  Their record was 13 - 1 (19-3 overall).  Hofmann stated, “The key game of the season was a second half win over Herrick, who had defeated them earlier in the year.”  The Spartans won the Jackson Tournament, which included a thrilling 42-37 win over crosstown rival, Hadley Jr. High. 
     Joining the 7th grade girls’ basketball team, the Spartan boys traveled to “Feed My Starving Children,” Organization, located in Aurora, for a combined service project.  This project, organized by Hofmann, accomplished the packing of enough meals to feed 27 children for the entire year.  The Coach applauded the efforts of the teams both on and off the court.  “The kids showed great determination and teamwork all year.  I am most proud of their effort to help others less fortunate through FMSC.”  Members of the 2013 7th grade boys basketball team are Nick Atkinson, Linton Ellis, Drew Fritz, Brian Kozlowski, Matt  LaMontagna, Bryan Maroney Ryan McConville, Mike Paprota, Cameron Sanders, Jack Santucci, Kendall Simpson, Dimitar Spasovski, and Brandon Whiteside.  Managers are Greg Kozlick, Colin Leppert, Ryan Lim, Mitch McGee, Tyler Sowl annd Alex Zambori.
