Plant Trees, Birdwatch, Paint Wildflowers During Glen Ellyn Park District Earth Week
The Glen Ellyn Park District is offering family-friendly earth week activities starting April 20.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn Park District has scheduled a variety of activities to celebrate Earth Week, April 20 through April 26. The family-friendly offerings include an outdoor watercolor painting class, a birdwatching tour, tree planting and more.
Wildflower Watercolor Painting
April 20 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Lake Ellyn Park
A wildflower watercolor painting class will be held at Lake Ellyn Park on April 20, let by Liita Forsyth from The Little Bits Workshop. Attendees will paint outdoors amid the budding wildflowers in a restored wooded area.

The 18-and-over class includes brushes, canvas, paint and other supplies.

Storytime
April 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Maryknoll Park
Kids ages five and up can attend library storytime at Maryknoll Park to hear stories about nature and Earth Day.
There is no charge to attend, but registration is required.
Migration Morning Tour
April 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Manor Park
During this guided tour of Manor Park, attendees will learn how to spot spring warblers and other birds.

Tree Planting on Arbor Day
April 24 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Ackerman Park
During this hands-on tree-planting session at Ackerman Park, attendees will gain the skills to plant their own trees and learn about mulching, watering and other tree care.
The free event is for residents 18 and older. Register here.
Forest Bathing Wellness Walk
April 26 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Churchill Park
A nature therapy guide will lead a walk through Churchill Park to forage herbs and flowers that will be used in a tea ceremony at the end of the event.
