Back To School: District 41 Calendar For 2023-24

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in District 41 with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the 2023-2024 school year.

The first day of school for District 41 students is set for Aug. 23.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. We also suggest that you check the District 41 calendar and your child’s individual school calendar regarding conferences, open houses, meetings, exams, early dismissals, athletic and other school events.

Below is the list of dates to know for the 2023-24 school year:

Aug. 23: First Day of School

Sept. 4: Labor Day, no school

Oct. 9: Indigenous People Day, no school

Nov. 20 - Nov. 24: Thanksgiving Break, no school

Dec. 25 - Jan. 5: Winter Break, no school

Jan. 15: MLK Jr.'s Birthday, no school

Feb. 19: President's Day, no school

March 1: Institute Day, no school

March 25 - March 29: Spring Break, no school

April 26: Institute Day, no school

May 27: Memorial Day, no school

May 31: Last Day of School

June 4 through June 10 are listed as emergency days and will be scheduled as needed.

SIP Days

The following days are scheduled as SIP Days to allow for activities related to school improvement. During these days, there will be no kindergarten, pre-kindergarten or early learning classes. Grades 1 through 8 will dismiss at 11:30 a.m.
