Back To School: District 87 Calendar For 2023-24

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Glenbard District 87 with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the 2023-2024 school year.

The first day of school for District 87 students is set for Aug. 17. Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. We also suggest that you check the District 87 calendar and your child’s individual school calendar regarding conferences, open houses, meetings, exams, early dismissals, athletic and other school events.

Below is the list of dates to know for the 2023-24 school year:

Aug. 17: First Day of School

Sept. 4: Labor Day, no school

Oct. 9: Indigenous People Day, no school

Oct. 27: No School

Nov. 22 - Nov. 24: Thanksgiving Break, no school

Dec. 25 - Jan. 8: No School

Jan. 15: MLK Jr.'s Birthday, no school

Feb. 19: President's Day, no school

March 1: Teacher's Institute, no school

March 25 - April 1: Spring Break, no school

May 24: Last Day of School

Emergency days are listed for May 28 - May 31 and June 3 and will be scheduled as needed. As of Aug. 9, high school commencement dates were still to be determined.
