Boy, 12, Pinned by Car That Crashed Into Home: Police

The boy was sleeping on the couch when the car crashed into his family's home in Glendale Heights.

Glendale Heights police said the fact that a 12-year-old boy was sleeping and not sitting up on the couch in his family’s home when a car crashed through the wall Sunday morning likely saved his life, the Daily Herald reports.

When rescuers arrived to the home in the 1300 block of Glen Ellyn Drive at 9:51 a.m. Sunday they found the car resting on the boy, according to the article. They were able to use blocks to stabilize the car and the boy was able to crawl out.

He suffered an ankle injury. The driver of the car, a 45-year-old Bloomingdale resident, was not injured, according to the Daily Herald.
