Burglars Steal Cash, Safe From 2Toots Restaurant In Glen Ellyn

Police said the thieves made off with a safe and cash after breaking into the kid-themed eatery.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Police are looking for a suspect or suspects who broke into a kid-friendly, train-themed restaurant in Glen Ellyn and stole cash and a safe. The burglary took place at 2Toots Train Whistle Grill, 450 N. Main Street between Feb. 8 and Feb. 9, according to police.

Police say the suspect(s) got into the restaurant by prying open a side door. Once inside, they removed a safe that contained $500 in cash, along with a total of $150 in cash from the restaurant's registers.

The victim told police the burglary happened between 8:15 p.m. and 10 a.m. while the restaurant was closed.
