Glen Ellyn-Wheaton Chorale Presents Wintersong 2026 Peace on Earth Concerts

Event Details

Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, 149 W Brush Hill Rd, Elmhurst, IL, 60126

The Glen Ellyn-Wheaton Chorale is proudly announcing its 41st season celebrating over four decades of music and community.

Audiences are invited to 'Save the Dates' for two unforgettable performances:  Friday November 13, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.  Both concerts will be held at the Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, 149 West Brush Hill Road, Elmhurst, IL

The Chorale is also excited to introduce its new artistic leadership:  Jesse Borower.  Jesse is a Chicago-based conductor, singer, and educator.  He serves as choir director at Loyola Academy in Wilmette and is an active church musician throughout the North Shore, most recently leading the choirs of the Village Church of Northbrook.

The cornerstone of the Wintersong 2026 program is Randall Thompson's "Frostiana" a set of 7 of Robert Frost poems for chorus and chamber orchestra.  "It is absolute stunning music about more than just landscapes and the simple joys of life, but about choices.  The poetry is full of inward reflection, and to practice that inwardness in unison with 60 other people has been weird and thrilling.  Listening, quietness, and intention are things we so rarely get to experience in the real world," says Music Director Jesse Borower.

The chorale will round out the concert with old and new favorites by composers like Ola Gjeilo, Rosephanye Powell, and Dan Forest to talk about choosing peace as we approach the holidays in our program called "Peace on Earth."
