Carol Stream Man Sexually Exploited Girl With Special Needs: Cops

Authorities say he "manipulated a young girl" who suffers from spina bifida.

CAROL STREAM, IL --- A Carol Stream man faces 29 years in prison after he was convicted of demanding that a girl with special needs send him sexually explicit images and texts. Adan Rodriguez, 53, has been charged with felony counts of manufacturing child pornography in relation to the 2015 incident.

Authorities say that in Feb. 2015, Rodriguez told a girl who suffers from spina bifida to send him "sexually explicit photographs of herself." The victim's mother reportedly discovered the "sexually explicit text messages and photographs" and alerted police, who later arrested and charged Rodriguez.

After Rodriguez's two-day trial, DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said, “Mr. Rodriguez manipulated a young girl with special needs into sending him explicit photographs of herself. Thankfully, the jury saw through his attempts to paint the victim as the aggressor and found him guilty of this disgusting behavior."
