Charles Evans Discusses U.S. Financial Outlook at COD Economic Forum

Charles Evans, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago president and CEO, provided his insight on the economy, inflation and employment to approximately 350 guests last week at the College of DuPage Economic Forum.
Sponsored by the College’s Career Services Center and Continuing Education department, Evans outlined his thoughts on a possible recession during a moderated Q&A session with Joe Cassidy, COD Assistant Vice President of Economic Development.

Evans has served as president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago since 2007. He previously served as director of research and senior vice president, supervising the Bank’s research on monetary policy, banking, financial markets and regional economic conditions. His research has focused on measuring the effects of monetary policy on U.S. economic activity, inflation and financial market prices.
He is a member of the Federal Reserve’s Federal Open Market Committee, which reviews economic and financial conditions and determines the appropriate stance on monetary policy and interest rates.

Prior to the event, Evans met with several local business leaders at Innovation DuPage, the College’s business incubator, before touring COD’s Technical Education Center on the Glen Ellyn campus.
