Coat Stolen, Car Burglarized, Window Smashed: Glen Ellyn Blotter

Police responded to reports of stolen coats and purses, a burglarized car, and more.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The following items were taken from the Glen Ellyn Police blotter from Jan. 1 through Jan. 14.

Criminal Damage To Property

Police responded to a report that someone smashed the rear window of a resident's vehicle. Police say the incident took place in the first block of Ellyn, sometime between 3 a.m. on Jan. 1 and 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 2.

Vehicle Burglary

A resident reported that a person or persons burglarized their vehicle in the 1100 block of Surrey sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 7 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 8. Police say a car radio, an iPod shuffle, and $5 in cash were stolen from the vehicle.

Theft

On Jan. 10, at approximately 9 a.m., police responded to a report of a stolen purse. The incident took place at the Dunkin Donuts located at 1090 Roosevelt Rd. Police say employees searched the building, but were not able to find the purse.

On Jan. 13, a woman told police her coat was stolen while she was at Ackerman Sports Complex. According to police, the woman had left her coat in a storage area and it was taken sometime between 12:15 p.m. and 1 p.m.
