COD Celebrates Constitution Day with Discussion on Down Ballot Voting

In celebration of Constitution Day, College of DuPage presents “Beyond the Top of the Ticket: Securing the Republic” with Dr. Ted Williams III at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sep. 17, at the Robert J. Miller Homeland Security Education Center (HEC) Room 1022, on the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

Williams will discuss the importance of the general election beyond the presidential vote and why filling out the entire ballot helps your vote count on bigger, immediately pressing issues. Guests will gain insight into why it is essential to exercise your right to vote and the importance of down-ballot voting.

A Chicago-based author, playwright, professor and political commentator, Williams has taught political science at Wright College, Chicago State University and is currently Chairman for the Social Sciences Department at Kennedy-King College. He is an Illinois Humanities Road Scholar and was appointed by Governor J.B. Pritzker to serve on the Illinois Reparations Commission.
