Conroy Connected Area Seniors With Fraud Prevention Resources at Seminar

Conroy brings Senior Fraud Seminar to area residents.

To give area seniors tips and tools to protect themselves, state Rep. Deb Conroy, D-Villa Park, recently hosted a Senior Fraud Seminar with Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s office.

“Too often, there are people who try to take advantage of our senior citizens by pretending to be part of a credible organization,” Conroy said. “I hosted this event because I want seniors to have the resources to help them identify fraud and scams. I know there were quite a few seniors who left today’s event with ideas and plans to protect themselves, and I will continue to find other ways to protect our seniors through legislation and hosting similar events.”

Conroy hosted a Senior Fraud Seminar to help area seniors get updated information about scams that may target them, as well as hotlines and resources to protect themselves. The presentation by the Illinois Attorney General’s Office included tips on how seniors can protect themselves from identity theft and as consumers.
