Conroy Invites Children to Participate in Poster Contest

Conroy Invites Local Children to Participate in Poster Contest to Celebrate Illinois Bicentennial

VILLA PARK, Ill. – State Rep. Deb Conroy, D-Villa Park, encourages local children to submit artwork for her Illinois bicentennial art contest. Submissions for the contest should share what they love most about Illinois.

“I am so excited to celebrate Illinois’ bicentennial, which is why I have decided to launch this art contest for the children in our district. It is so important that as a community we promote an environment that encourages our children to use their creativity and imagination,” said Conroy. “I think this is a great opportunity for our children to share what they love most about living in our great state.”

Conroy invites children to spend time learning about the great history of our state and create a poster depicting what they love most about living in Illinois. To enter, contestants should submit an original poster to Rep. Conroy’s constituent services office with the contestant’s age, grade, address and phone number. The submissions will be separated into three categories based on grade: K-2, 3rd-5th, and 6th-8th. Posters should be submitted by May 25. All artists will have their artwork displayed in Conroy’s district office located at 28 S. Villa Ave in Villa Park. There will be an awards presentation at Conroy’s district office to present the winners with their prizes on June 25. Artwork should be made on poster board.
