Coroner IDs Man Found Dead in House Fire Near Glen Ellyn

The man's body was found inside a one-story home following a fire on Oct. 24.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL - The DuPage County Coroner's Office has identified a man killed last month in a house fire near Glen Ellyn as James Jezierski, 69.

Jezierski, of 22W517 Tamarack Drive in unincorporated Milton Township, was found dead following a fire at his home during the early morning hours of Oct. 24.

DuPage County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at about 4 a.m. and found the one-story home completely engulfed in flames. Shortly after the fire was extinguished, deputies found Jezierski's body inside the residence, according to authorities.

He was pronounced dead at 7:45 a.m.

The cause and manner of the fire are still under investigation and the cause and manner of Jezierski's death also remains under investigation, according to the coroner's office news release.
