The Courier Student Newspaper Takes Home ICCJA Awards
The conference, held on April 13 and 14 at COD's Glen Ellyn campus, brought together newspapers from 15 community colleges across the state.

The Courier, the College of DuPage student newspaper, took home second place for best student media at the Illinois Community College Journalism Association's (ICCJA) 2023 Spring Conference. The conference, held on April 13 and 14 at COD’s Glen Ellyn campus, brought together newspapers from 15 community colleges across the state for lectures, networking and professional development opportunities.
The Courier won multiple awards, including first place in front page design for division one and fourth place in the Mike Foster General Excellence Award. Staff writer Devin Oommen was named Reporter of the Year. Additional awards include second- and third-place awards in several categories, including Multimedia Story and Graphics.
The Courier, started in 1967, publishes a newsletter every Tuesday and print issues every Wednesday on campus, covering a variety of topics of interest to the COD community.
