GLEN ELLYN, IL — Crews have begun construction on Glenwood Station, a mixed-used development project that will feature luxury residences, a 24-hour fitness center, a clubhouse and commercial space.
The five-story building will be located at the former site of the McChesney and Miller Grocery Store, now 464 Glenwood Ave.
Plans for Glenwood Station were first presented to the Glen Ellyn Village Council in spring of 2020 by Holladay Properties and was approved later that year.

The development will consist of studio, one- and two-bedroom units. Residents will have access to an outdoor fire pit area with grills, in addition to heated parking with stations for charging electric vehicles.
McChesney and Miller Grocery Store shuttered in 2014 after decades in the village. Glenwood Station's developers are planning to integrate the store's sign into the new building's design, in a further effort to integrate classic characteristics of the village's historic style.
