David Virgilio Named Controller at College of DuPage

David Virgilio, an accountant and finance executive with extensive experience in both the private and public sector, is the new Controller at College of DuPage.
“I look forward to continuing to perfect the College’s financial processes and policies to ensure that everyone at COD has a good understanding of their functions,” he said. “I’m also excited to continue building and maintaining positive relationships across campus.”
Armed with more than 15 years’ experience, Virgilio’s past positions include Staff Accountant for Farm Progress Companies and Senior Staff Auditor for Crowe Horwath LLP. He joined the College in 2010 as Senior Accountant and has held multiple positions, including Budget Manager in 2011 and Assistant Financial Controller in 2016. He most recently served as interim Controller.

In his new role, Virgilio will continue to meet the College’s financial reporting deadlines, while accurately presenting the financial position year in and year out. In addition, he will work with budgeting and student accounts. Virgilio specifically looks forward to creating more flexible payment plans to make college affordable for all students.
“The cost of college is a concern for nearly every student, and few people have the resources to simply write a check for the full cost of tuition each semester,” he said. “That’s why COD has worked hard to make our institution an affordable community college with options that fit every student budget. I will continue to find ways to remove financial barriers to help our students succeed.”
