District 41 To Stay Vigilant Amid December 17 TikTok Challenge
District officials say they are aware of a challenge pushing school violence on Dec. 17 that surfaced on the social media platform TikTok.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The most recent challenge to surface on the social media site TikTok has led Glen Ellyn School District 41 to issue a safety message urging vigilance from students and parents.
District officials sent the safety message Thursday to address a December 17 TikTok challenge that threatened gun and bomb threats at schools throughout the United States, the message said. No specific schools were mentioned and the source of the message is unclear, per District 41.
Glen Ellyn police informed the district that they had not received specific information about the reported challenge or any related threats. Anyone who becomes aware a school-related threat is urged to contact 911.
