Donate Food, Blood During January Drive At Ackerman SFC
Residents can visit Ackerman SFC on Jan. 19 to donate blood or to drop off food items and toiletries to benefit Glen Ellyn Food Pantry.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Residents will have a chance to kick off the new year by helping out community members in need during the Jan. 19 Blood and Food Drive at Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center.
The blood drive will be facilitated by Versiti Blood Centers of Illinois, with appointments available between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. To be eligible, donors must be 17 or older, but can be 16 if they have permission from a parent. Walkups will be taken or you can click the link to make an appointment to donate blood.
The event will also welcome donations of nonperishable food and toiletries to benefit Glen Ellyn Food Pantry. According to the pantry's website, the following items are most needed ahead of the January Blood and Food Drive:

- Bagged or boxed potatoes
- Canned pineapples
- Coffee and tea
- Cooking oil
- Crackers
- Hand soap (liquid)
- Mayonnaise
- Mustard
- Peanut butter
- Salad dressing
- Conditioner
- Shampoo
