Downtown Glen Ellyn Had its Largest Ladies Night Out Event in History!

The Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn held its 16th Annual and largest Ladies Night Out event. Over 900 women registered for this event between two evenings November 14 and 16. Nineteen storefronts participated in the event ranging from boutiques, chocolates, gifts, books, and home décor. Women were welcomed with bites and sips courtesy from the storefronts and a lot of amazing discounts.

“This is a highly anticipated event for so many residents and shoppers from surrounding communities. Ladies Night Out has become larger every year so we made it into two evenings”, said Dawn Smith, Executive Director. “Friends, neighbors and holiday shoppers await this event every year. It’s just so much fun!”

For the past 2 years, the Village of Glen Ellyn has been rebuilding itself from the ground up. Literally, with a once-in-a-generation project replacing and upgrading electric, water and sanitary lines, to roads, sidewalks, and trees. All of Glen Ellyn is excited now that Main Street is open. As the construction had its struggling effects on the storefronts in the central business district, the Ladies Night Out was a welcome for many of the independent small businesses.

“The stores were excited and relieved to see the shoppers return to Downtown. Most of our restaurants and storefronts are independently owned small businesses. It is what makes Glen Ellyn so quaint and charming,” replied Smith.

The Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn, an organization comprised of dedicated business owners whose mission is to increase the foot-traffic of the downtown, wants to thank you for shopping in Glen Ellyn.
