DriveTime Automotive Group to Add Up to 65 Jobs and 5 New Locations Over 12 Months

DriveTime, the nation’s largest used car dealer and financing company helping people with credit issues find and finance vehicles, will grow its presence in the Chicago area with the opening of the Lombard location at 500 E Roosevelt Rd, Lombard, IL, 60148 on November 21, 2014. This is the second of four planned dealerships and a regional inspection center (slated to open in March 2015). The company expects to add from 54-65 local jobs over the next 12 months.

Recognizing a need in the marketplace, DriveTime is bringing their unique approach to used car buying, leasing and financing to Lombard. In the Chicago metro area, approximately 34% of residents have credit scores below 699, making buying or leasing a car more difficult, and in some cases, impossible.

When people face credit issues, access to necessities as simple as transportation becomes a challenge

and so does getting to work. It doesn’t have to be. DriveTime provides used cars and financing to

everyone, including those with bad or no credit in a pleasant, respectful and transparent environment.

Twenty percent of people in the United States have credit scores below 620, while 35% have non-mortgage debt in collection. Meanwhile, $27 billion of the $55 billion spent in the automotive finance space comes from the lowest ranges of the market. The median income for a household in Chicago is $47,408, while the per capita income for the city is $28,202.
