Enjoy Student Music Performances This December at College of DuPage

Student music groups take the stage this winter at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., in Glen Ellyn.
Upcoming concerts feature four unique COD student ensembles celebrating a wide variety of musical styles.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. in the MAC’s Belushi Performance Hall and tickets are $7, unless otherwise noted.

Join COD's Jazz/Pop Combos for an afternoon of music featuring songs by Lake Street Dive, Chick Corea, Tower of Power, Wayne Shorter and others.
COD Chamber Orchestra, Director Philip Bauman

Chamber Orchestra is a mixed group of instrumentalists consisting of student and community members and is open to all from high school to adult ages. The ensemble performs both traditional literature for small orchestra/chamber music from the 1600s through the 20th century as well as less traditional chamber orchestra styles such as jazz, contemporary classical, theater and film music.
COD Percussion Ensemble, Director Ben Wahlund

Percussion Ensemble is a chamber ensemble that studies and performs repertoire written specifically for the percussion family as well as transcriptions adaptable to percussion.

Chamber Singers and Concert Choir, Director Lee R. Kesselman

The Concert Choir will sing sacred music, Rodgers and Hammerstein works, holiday music and Gospel selections.
The Chamber Singers will perform madrigals, holiday music and spirituals. The program also features Tim Takach’s “Listen to the Apples” and a tribute to Planet Earth by composers Alberto Grau, Frank Ticheli and Lee R. Kesselman.

The Music program at College of DuPage offers the first two years of a baccalaureate music degree program, including coursework in theory and ear training, and a sequence of four class piano courses designed for non-pianists. The program offers associate degrees in music and music business and a certificate in audio production, as well as private lessons in voice, piano, guitar, percussion, and all band and orchestra instruments. Performing groups are open to all students regardless of major, and include Concert Choir, Jazz Choir, Chamber Singers, Community Jazz Ensemble, DuPage Chorale, DuPage Community Band, Chamber Orchestra, Small Group Jazz, Percussion Ensemble and Guitar Ensemble.
