Sunday, October 23, beginning at 10:30 A.M., Glen Crest Middle School will be the scene of the third annual Spartan 3.5K Run. Coordinated by Glen Crest Athletic Director, Mary Wolski, this year’s Walk/Run is labeled Fall Into Fitness. The route begins at Glen Crest, winds through surrounding neighbor hoods that include a scenic route through Pan Fish Park and finishing at Glen Crest. Proceeds of the Run/Walk benefit all Glen Crest students by helping offset costs of equipment needed for intramurals, Fitness Center, Interscholastics and the PE program.
The registration forms can be downloaded from District 89’s Home Page (www.ccsd89.org) under Paperbacks or may be picked up in the main office at Glen Crest, 725 Sheehan Avenue. Early registration goes until Oct. 17 is $12.00 for each Run/Walk participant. Late registration is Oct. 18 through Oct. 23 at $15. T-shirts are given to registrants - (4 and under kids are free and do not get a t-shirt.). The fee covers the cost of a T-shirt, raffle ticket (more can be purchased), and bottled water at the completion of the Run/Walk. For more infomation contact the Glen Crest office at 630-469-5220.
