Landmarking 101

The Village of Glen Ellyn’s Historic Preservation Commission will be hosting an event on May 23, 2012 called Landmarking 101. The aim of this meeting is to educate property owners about the Local Landmark process and provide information about the benefits of landmarking, property tax incentive programs and to provide first-hand accounts of the landmark experience from current property owners of landmarked homes. Catherine O’Connor from the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency will speak and be available to answer any questions about landmarking from the perspective of the State agency.

The event is being held at the Glen Ellyn History Center located at 800 N. Main Street and will begin at 7:00 p.m. Please contact Michael Strong, Planning Intern with any questions about this event or to reserve your spot at 630-469-5000.
