Expanded Walmart Opens Wednesday in Glen Ellyn

An expanded Walmart is re-opening Wednesday following a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m.

The 148,000-square-foot store is located at 3 S. 100 Route 53. The store expansion created 80 additional jobs for the Walmart.

The 32,000-square-foot addition created more space for the Walmart’s grocery department. The expanded store now offers fresh produce and a full line of groceries from all the leading brand names, including organic and natural selections

The store will host A Big Family Welcome on Saturday where customers can meet store manager Arienne Wyatt and enjoy family activities and free food samples from noon to 3 p.m.
