Fireworks, Parade, Food Trucks Set For July 4 Weekend In Glen Ellyn

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn's 2022 Fourth of July festivities will once again include food trucks, in addition to a July 4 parade and a fireworks show at Lake Ellyn.

The village's Fourth of July celebration was nixed in 2020 and the Food Truck Festival was canceled in 2021, when Glen Ellyn presented a scaled-back event due to coronavirus.

The details for Glen Ellyn's 2022 Fourth of July festivities are as follows:

July 1

5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A Food Truck Picnic will be held at Lake Ellyn Park from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on July 1. Several food trucks will be on hand, serving up pizza, tacos and other treats. Proceeds will help support the village's annual fireworks show.

The Food Truck Picnic is part of Summer Break on the Lake, a new event featuring beer, wine and live music from Maggie Speaks. the new event comes in the wake of a recent announcement that the Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta was canceled for 2022.

July 4

12 p.m.

Glen Ellyn's Fourth of July Parade will step off from Crescent Boulevard and Ellyn Avenue at noon on July 4. The parade will make its way west on Crescent to Main Street, where it will go north, and then east on Linden Avenue en route to Lake Ellyn.

Dusk

Head to Lake Ellyn to get a front row seat for Glen Ellyn's Fourth of July fireworks show, which kicks off at dusk. Lake Ellyn Park will open at 6 a.m. on July 4 to allow attendees to place blankets on the grass and snag a spot.
