Food, Blood Donations Sought For Drive At Ackerman SFC
Those who give blood at the April 26 event will be entered for a chance to win a $500 Airbnb gift card.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — Blood donors will have a chance to win a $500 Airbnb gift card if they take part in a food and blood drive slated for April 26 at Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center (SFC).
Representatives from Versiti Blood Centers will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to collect blood from donors. Appointments are not required, but they are encouraged. Click the link to make an appointment to donate blood at Ackerman SFC.
Throughout the event, residents can drop off non-perishable food items and personal care items that will be donated to Glen Ellyn Food Pantry. The following items are most needed by the pantry:

- Vegetable oil
- Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise
- Canned tomato sauce and paste
- Pasta sauce
- Canned fruit
- Sugar and flour
- Low-fat and -sodium potato chips and crackers
- Liquid laundry detergent
- Paper towels
