Former GBW Basketball Player Named Big 10 Player of the Week

Northwestern's John Shurna earned the top honor after his performance in Champaign.

Glenbard West graduate John Shurna was named Big Ten co-player of the week for the fifth time, according to Northwestern's athletic site

During Sunday's win against the University of Illinois, Shurna scored 24 points helping the Wildcats win in Champaign for the first time since 1999. The senior standout now averages the most points per game in the Big Ten, according to the Big Ten Network.  

Shurna shares a Big Ten honor this week with his freshman teammate Dave Sobolewski, who was named co-freshman of the week.
