Free Narcan Training Classes Offered In DuPage County

The free classes illustrate how Narcan to be used to save a life in the event of an overdose.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL -- Opioid-related deaths have risen steadily in DuPage County in recent years, but officials are taking a proactive approach to keep residents educated on how to prevent deadly overdoses. The county regularly offers free Narcan training classes to educate residents on how the opioid antagonist, also known as naloxone, can possibly save a life in the event of an overdose.

The free classes, which are funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Substance Use Prevention & Recovery, meet at College of DuPage's SSG Miller Homeland Security Center. Upcoming sessions will be held on Feb. 6 and April 10.

Interested residents can sign up for the Narcan training classes ahead of time online to secure a spot.
