Free Tax Preparation Services at COD Beginning Feb. 14

Supervised, IRS-certified, accounting students will help taxpayers file state and federal income tax returns.

College of DuPage is offering employees, students and community members free assistance with income tax returns at the Student Resource Center (SRC), Room 3000, on the College’s Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

Sessions are available by appointment from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and from 6 to 9 p.m. on select Wednesdays, Feb. 14 to April 11. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified COD accounting students, under the supervision of IRS-certified accountancy faculty, will help taxpayers prepare and electronically file both federal and state income tax returns.

Participants must bring printed copies of all 2025 tax documents and their 2024 income tax return to their appointments. Bank routing and account numbers are also required for direct deposit of refunds, as the IRS has announced it will no longer issue paper checks.
