Glen Ellyn Agrees to Give Carpeting Business Sales Tax Rebate to Move to Town

DeSitter Flooring is planning to move to Glen Ellyn in January.

A 95-year-old flooring and carpeting business is planning to move from Carol Stream to Glen Ellyn after trustees on Monday agreed to help store owners pay for remodeling costs by giving the business a sales tax rebate, the Chicago Tribune reports.

DeSitter Flooring will receive a rebate of $100,000 in city sales taxes over an eight-year period with plans to move into a 6,900-square-foot space at the former Bendes grocery store, 444 Roosevelt Road, according to the article. DeSitter’s main clientele is based in Wheaton and Glen Ellyn.
