Glen Ellyn Arbor Day Festival Celebrates Village As 'Tree City'

The village will plant two new trees to honor police officers and a former village president.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn's Arbor Day event will draw inspiration for its Tree City Award, which the village has won consecutively for nearly 35 years. Residents are invited to the free April 27 event to help plant trees at the Glen Ellyn police station.

This year, the organizers say the two trees honor Glen Ellyn's officials and police. These include a swamp white oak and a big blue spruce tree.

After the festivities, participants can gather at the police station for the village's annual Arbor Day Ceremony.
