Glen Ellyn To Consider 4-Story Parking Garage For Civic Center
The four-story parking garage would add a net total of 212 parking spots.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn planning commission will hold a public hearing on Dec. 12 to weigh the option of building a four-story parking garage at village's Civic Center. The proposal, helmed by developers M.A. Mortenson Company, would provide a net total of 212 parking spots.
In a recent newsletter, village officials said adding the parking garage would require demolition of the Civic Center's Shonkwiler building at 423 Main St., along with a "residential building" behind that. The proposal would create a public space to link Main Street with the parking garage.
The parking garage would be equipped with 277 stalls and another 10 stalls would be added just off Duane Street, replacing the current 75 parking spots available at the Civic Center.
