Glen Ellyn Firefighter Recognized for Saving Victim From Apartment Blaze
The 100 Club of DuPage County awarded Firefighter Christopher Guare with its Medal of Valor.

The 100 Club of DuPage County has awarded Glen Ellyn Firefighter Christopher Guare its highest honor, the Medal of Valor at its annual awards banquet.

Firefighter Guare was recognized for his bravery at an early morning fire in an apartment fire in downtown Glen Ellyn. Firefighter Guare battled heat and flames to rescue a trapped resident from a third story apartment on Duane Street.
The victim was transported to the burn unit at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Firefighter Guare is the first Glen Ellyn firefighter to be honored with this prestigious award.

The 100 Club of DuPage County is a private, non-profit charitable completely civilian organization which offers assistance to the families of law enforcement and firefighting personnel killed or injured in the line of duty.
