Glen Ellyn Food Pantry To Host More Drive-Up Food Drives

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn Food Pantry has will host two upcoming food drives to aid those in need during the new coronavirus shutdown. The first is planned for May 29 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the second, which will be co-hosted by the Glen Ellyn Lions Club, is planned for June 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

To drop off items on these dates, residents can drive to the parking lot at 493 Forest Avenue and follow the signs for the food drive.

The following items are of urgent need to the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry:

  • Frozen or refrigerated ground beef and chicken
  • Frozen pizza
  • Frozen vegetables
  • Potatoes and onions
  • Apples and oranges
  • Flour, sugar
  • Pancake mix and syrup
  • Dried or canned beans
  • Canned peas and vegetables
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Boxed rice
  • Hamburger Helper
  • Canned chili
  • Canned pasta
  • Laundry detergent
  • Shampoo

The Glen Ellyn Food Pantry also has a drop-off box located inside its lobby in which residents can donate food items Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you need to drop off food or items at a different time, you can contact the food pantry at 630-469-6988.
