Glen Ellyn Gears Up For Halloween Festival And Parade

This year the parade steps off from a new location to start a day full of fall fun downtown.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Downtown Glen Ellyn will be filled with goblins, witches, ghosts, and things that go bump in the daytime during the village's annual Halloween Festival and Parade on Oct. 27. The parade kicks off at 9:45 a.m. and starts a day full of scary movies, costume contests, and much more.

Competitive spirits can vie for prizes in the costume contest or enter their pup in the event's pet costume contest at noon. After the parade, kids can trick-or-treat at downtown businesses or make Halloween-inspired arts and crafts.

Live entertainment for the Halloween festival includes performances by the Glenbard West Drumline, Glen Eagles Jr. Cheer Squad, and McNulty Irish Dancers. If you want to get into the Halloween fun early, you can catch a free scary movie at the Glen Art Theatre, Hotel Transylvania 3 at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 20.
