Glen Ellyn Man Featured On FOX's 'Strange Inheritance'
Matt Litavsky of Glen Ellyn will appear on the Fox Business Network show to talk about the rare Corvette he got from his dad.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — When Glen Ellyn resident Matt Litavsky's father, Keith, went to fight in Vietnam, he promised himself that if he made it back alive, he would buy a Corvette. Keith saved up his combat pay and used it to buy a 1967 blue Corvette Stingray when he returned from the war. Matt Litavsky, who inherited the car after his father died, will appear on Fox Business Network's "Strange Inheritance" on Jan. 29 to tell the story of the Stingray.
The Stingray has just over 8,000 miles on it when Litavsky inherited it from his father nearly 25 years ago. Busy with kids of his own, Litavsky only put about 30 miles on the car in that time. Litavsky said he spent much of that time praying to find out what to do with the car.
Ultimately, he made the tough choice to sell his father's beloved Stingray at an auction.

Before selling though, Litavsky had to have the car's authenticity verified. Many 1967 Corvette Stingrays lose value if they've been restored and had a small dimple under the hood sanded out. Litavsky's car hadn't been restored, but it didn't have the signature dimple, according to Fox Business Network.
This led David Burroughs, who is an expert in vehicle authentication, to discover that a handful of 1967 Stingrays was made without the dimple under the hood. This discovery made Litavsky's Stingray —in near mint condition— even more rare.

Burroughs told the team at "Strange Inheritance," that he’s "authenticated some 10,000 Corvettes, and Litavsky’s is one of the best he’s ever seen."
To find out how much Litavsky fetched for the Corvette, tune into the debut episode of "Strange Inheritance" on the Fox Business Network at 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29.
